Odisha Government Launches CM-Kisan Yojana Funds

The CM Kisan Yojana was introduced on Sunday by Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, who also released the first tranche of Rs 925 crore for roughly 46 lakh farmers. The concept was introduced during a special event celebrating Nuakhai, the main agricultural celebration in Western Odisha, which was hosted at Gangadhar Meher University in Sambalpur. The CM-Kisan Yojana was launched in the presence of numerous notable individuals, including local MLAs, agriculture secretary Arabinda Padhee, revenue minister Suresh Pujari, and union minister of education Dharmendra Pradhan. Ministers, MLAs, senior bureaucrats, and deputy chief ministers KV Singhdeo and Pravati Parida attended the inaugural event at various headquarters.

Each small and marginal farmer benefited from Rs 2,000 in support as part of the CM Kisan Yojana via the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) technique. On the day of Akshaya Tritiya, there will be another installment issued. The chief minister also launched the Krushak Odisha Unified Portal on the occasion, which offers details on the state government’s numerous efforts to aid farmers. “We introduced the CM Kisan Yojana on the auspicious occasion of Nuakhai.” 46 lakh farmers in all, even those without land, will profit. The CM stated that Rs 925 crore would be deposited into their accounts via DBT as part of the yojana.

He continued by saying that the farmers may use the aid funds to purchase seeds, insecticides, fertilizer, and agricultural equipment well in advance. The Chief Minister and his spouse consumed the traditional “Nabanna,” or the first rice of the season, within the grounds of the Samaleswari Temple in Sambalpur, before the CM Kisan Yojana was introduced. Each of the 45,57, 733 qualified farmers would get an annual payment of Rs 4,000 in two equal installments under the CM Kisan Yojana. Likewise, farmers who do not own land will receive Rs 12,500 divided into three equal payments.
