BHUBANESWAR: Leading steelmaker Jindal Steel & Power (JSP) has once again solidified its reputation for corporate social responsibility (CSR), receiving the prestigious *Business Excellence in Sustainability Award* in the manufacturing category at the 2nd Annual Symposium and Excellence Awards 2024. Organized by the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the event took place in New Delhi.
The accolade celebrates JSP’s unwavering commitment to sustainable practices and community development, driven through its social arm, Jindal Foundation. JSP’s initiatives have made a significant impact on social change, sustainability, and holistic community development throughout India. The award was presented to JSP by Dy Bizunesh Messert Tegegne, the Ambassador of Ethiopia to India, in the presence of Bernld Scholtz, Economic Counsellor and Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to India.
Under the guidance of Chairman Naveen Jindal, a three-time Member of Parliament from Kurukshetra, JSP’s social initiatives have addressed critical sectors, including education, healthcare, skill development, and environmental sustainability. The company’s work aligns with 16 of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), highlighting its broad vision for nation-building and empowering vulnerable sections of society.
The jury commended JSP for its holistic approach to CSR, emphasizing the company’s commitment to addressing key social challenges while promoting sustainable and inclusive growth. The award further highlights JSP’s role as a leader in the CSR space, impacting over 14 million lives through its various health, education, livelihood, and community development programs.

Rochak Bhardwaj, General Manager (CSR) at JSP, accepted the award on behalf of the company. He emphasized that this recognition is a testament to JSP’s tireless efforts in fostering social and environmental change.
With a focus on improving the quality of life for marginalized communities, JSP’s CSR initiatives have successfully reduced poverty, malnutrition, unemployment, and hunger across various regions in India, creating lasting change in the lives of millions.
