At the 32nd meeting of the Central Hindi Committee, which was held in New Delhi on Monday, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi made a number of recommendations to improve the promotion and comprehension of the Hindi language in the State. In order to train Hindi instructors and foster the development of Hindi literature, Chief Minister Majhi emphasized the necessity of setting up specialized Hindi educational institutions in Odisha. He clarified that committed institutions will support the state’s language growth and assist generate more skilled Hindi teachers.
With funding from the Union Government’s Department of Official Language, Majhi also suggested creating an Odia-Hindi Translation Center to help translate important works between the two languages, including original literature. He underlined that this endeavor will conserve the cultural diversity of both Hindi and Odia literature and improve understanding between the two languages. The Chief Minister recommended setting up more cultural exchange programs to deepen the literary and cultural ties between Odia speakers and Hindi speakers. In order to promote literary and cultural connections, he envisioned national and state-level gatherings of poets, authors, and thinkers from different areas.
Majhi suggested establishing an Inter-Language Research Institute in Odisha with the goal of investigating and studying both Odia and Hindi. The institute’s goal would be to create strategies for the languages’ reciprocal development. He also asked for central subsidies and support for the materials needed to successfully teach Hindi in Odisha’s educational system. Additionally, the Chief Minister called for special funding for state programs and organizations that are dedicated to promoting Hindi literature. Majhi’s suggestions demonstrate Odisha’s dedication to advancing Hindi while also strengthening linguistic and cultural cooperation between speakers of Odia and Hindi.
