Rs 4,349 Cr Investment Poised To Boost Odisha’s Healthcare & Biotechnology Sectors

The Utkarsh Odisha – Make in Odisha Conclave 2025 included a high-level sectoral session on health, pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology with the topic “Universal Health and Wellness in Odisha.” Food Supply & Consumer Welfare and Science & Technology Minister Krushna Chandra Patra emphasized that the State Government is working with the Union Government to improve the socioeconomic conditions of the people of Odisha by fostering biotechnology innovation and business development.

He explained that by promoting cooperation between business, academia, and society, the Odisha Biotechnology Policy 2024 aims to give priority to both basic and practical research as well as technical innovation. According to Health & Family Welfare, PA, E & IT Minister Dr. Mukesh Mahaling, Utkarsh Odisha is the perfect venue to highlight the state’s boundless potential and goals. He said that Odisha is quickly becoming a center for investment and innovation, and he asked the private sector to work with the government to achieve the goal of Utkarsha Odisha-2036, which is to change the lives of millions of people.

He also underlined Odisha’s dedication to growing multidisciplinary healthcare facilities and super-specialty hospitals as well as encouraging domestic manufacturing of reasonably priced medications, vaccines, and medical equipment. Experts like Prof. Saroj Kanta Mishra, Dr. Amulya Panda, Prof. Arun Kumar Das, and Dr. Manash Ranjan Sahoo, Vice-Chancellor of Odisha University of Health Sciences, participated in a panel discussion on “Skilling in the Health Sector for Utkarsh Odisha -2036.” They talked about how to establish Odisha as a pioneer in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and healthcare.
