Today is a sweltering heatwave in Odisha, with temperatures reaching 41°C or above in six locations around the state. With a temperature of 41.8 degrees Celsius, Boudh town in western Odisha was the hottest spot in the state. The Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre’s weather bulletin states that Sambalpur registered 41.2 degrees Celsius throughout the day, while Jharsuguda recorded 41.6 degrees.
On Sunday, the highest recorded temperature in Hirakud, Bolangir, and Titlagarh, as well as other places in western Odisha, was 41°C. At 40.3°C and 40.8°C, respectively, Sundargarh and Bhawanipatna had somewhat lower maximum temperatures. The highest recorded temperature was 37.1°C in Bhubaneswar, the state capital, and 37.2°C in Cuttack. Over the next five days, there shouldn’t be any notable fluctuations in the daytime and nighttime temperatures, according to the Meteorological Center.
