To further the goal of “Vikasit Odisha,” the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) is hosting a national conference. A road map for equitable, sustainable, and faster economic growth With an astounding projected growth rate of 8.5%, Odisha’s GDP is predicted to develop at the quickest pace among the main Indian states by 2023–2024. The ICC has scheduled its next meeting for April 19 in an effort to hasten the state’s transition to “Vikasit Odisha” by 2036. Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan, Minister Sampada Swain, Minister Bibhuti Bhushan Jena, Finance Secretary, Union Ministry of Finance Nagaraj Madirala, and other distinguished visitors will attend the conference, which will take place at Hotel May Fair.
The gathering will unite academia, government, business, and “Economic Acceleration, Inclusive and Sustainable Growth: A Vision for a Developed Odisha” is the topic of the conference, which will bring together important civil society players. Rich mineral resources, a long coastline, a lot of forest cover, a sizable working-age population, and reliable water and electricity infrastructure are all backed by robust infrastructure. The conference will concentrate on establishing a growth-enabling environment in accordance with this objective.
Speaking about the conference, ICC State Council Chairman Rajib Sahoo said: “Odisha has emerged as an economic powerhouse. As we approach the milestone year of 2036, ICC Odisha State Office is committed to aligning its initiatives with the long-term development goals of the state. Through this conference, we aim to facilitate important discussions and actionable insights that can catalyze inclusive, sustainable and accelerated growth.”
Through regional initiatives, capacity-building programs, and high-impact policy proposals, ICC is actively striving to provide its members and industry participants a competitive edge.
