Raurkela, Odisha: At the State Business Leadership Award ceremony during Resurgent Rourkela 2025, Dr. Monu Pattanayak was conferred with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award, a recognition of his decades-long service in advancing women’s healthcare and medical innovation in Odisha. A pioneer in reproductive medicine, gynae-endoscopy, and fetal procedures, Dr. Pattanayak has been instrumental in transforming not just clinical practices but also the very outlook of reproductive health in the state. From introducing IVF and delivering Odisha’s first test-tube baby to steering Shanti Memorial Hospital and IVF Centre into a hub of excellence, his contributions have touched thousands of lives. His role during the pandemic, when he set up Shanti COVID Hospital in Rourkela, further highlighted his deep commitment to the community and his unwavering spirit of service.
Receiving the award from Mr. Arun Kumar Sahu, Ambassador of India to Bulgaria, Dr. Pattanayak expressed his gratitude in the esteemed presence of Shri Rabinarayan Behera, Hon’ble MP of Jajpur; Prof. Karanam Umamaheshwar Rao, Director of NIT Rourkela; Mr. Nimish Gadodia, Chairman of Nav Durga Group; Mr. Vivek Srivastava, Managing Director of Talcher Fertilizers Limited; and Dr. Subhasish Das, Chairman of Interview Times. He said, “I am deeply grateful to Interview Times and the organizers of this wonderful event for bestowing this honor upon me. What makes this award truly special is that it recognizes people who are committed to their work, who strive to contribute to society, and who continuously try to uplift their professions. It is not just about the individual, but about the positive impact we create for the people around us and for society at large. I accept this recognition with humility, as an encouragement to continue serving with the same dedication and passion.” For him, the honor was not just a personal milestone but also a reaffirmation of his lifelong mission—to blend global medical expertise with compassionate local care, and in doing so, bring dignity, hope, and healing to countless families across Odisha.
