World Bank Delegation Holds Talks With Odisha On Critical Minerals Ecosystem

In order to boost the value chain of vital minerals in Odisha and throughout India, a delegation from the World Bank Group met with senior state government officials and Odisha Chief Secretary Anu Garg on Wednesday. The development of vital mineral processing parks, mineral production, investment promotion, logistics infrastructure, industrial corridors, skill development, and technology integration were among the potential areas of cooperation that the World Bank Group and the Odisha government discussed during the meeting.

The need of developing a strong and internationally competitive critical mineral ecosystem in Odisha via concerted efforts including the Indian government, the state government, and industry players was emphasized by officials. Enhancing Odisha’s position in the developing critical minerals industry, which is seen as vital, was another topic of debate.

Development Commissioner and Additional Chief Secretary of Steel & Mines Department Deoranjan Kumar Singh, Additional Chief Secretary of Industries Department Hemant Sharma, Additional Chief Secretary of Revenue & Disaster Management Department Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee, Additional Chief Secretary of Housing & Urban Development Department Usha Padhee, Principal Secretary of Finance Department Sanjeeb Kumar Mishra, and secretaries from several departments were among those in attendance.
