Odisha Gets 6 Projects Worth Rs 350 Crore Under Sagarmala Initiative

The Minister stated that 52 other projects with an estimated investment of around Rs 56,000 crore had been discovered under the state’s larger Sagarmala initiative, in addition to the six approved projects. A number of organizations, including the Paradip Port Authority, Odisha government departments, Indian Railways, National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), Container Corporation of India, and the Ministry of Rural Development, are carrying out these projects even though they are not directly funded by the Sagarmala scheme.

The proposed developments are anticipated to increase port handling capacity by over 83 million tonnes per year (MTPA), enhancing Odisha’s standing as a developing marine and logistics center on the eastern coast. With an emphasis on enhancing port-led development, cargo transportation, and industrial linkages, the Center’s marine development drive is anticipated to quicken the construction of infrastructure along Odisha’s coastline.
