Vedanta Aluminium (BSE: 544780 | NSE: VAML), India’s leading aluminium producer, today expanded its automotive solutions portfolio with the launch of two advanced offerings under its best-selling Primary Foundry Alloy (PFA) range. These include the Copper-Doped Alloy, developed for high-performance automotive applications, and the Vedanta Foundry Alloy (VFA), a versatile material for enhanced durability, developed in collaboration with IIT Delhi. The two innovations represent a new frontier in the development of next-generation automotives, enabling lighter, safer, and more efficient vehicles and fuelling new possibilities in the automotive sector.
At AutoEdge 2026, Vedanta Aluminium’s special summit for the automotive sector, the two offers were presented to senior executives from India’s premier automakers and producers of cutting-edge components. The conclave, which is currently in its second edition, included a number of interesting panel discussions, technical presentations, and professional insights into upcoming developments in the business.
After the current capacity expansion at the BALCO factory in Korba, Chhattisgarh, is finished, Vedanta Aluminum will have a capacity of 1.25 million tons per year (MTPA), making it the largest primary billet manufacturer in the world. With a current capacity of 380 kilo tons per year (KTPA), the firm is also the biggest manufacturer of PFA in India.
In addition to specialized billets for HVAC applications and crash-resistant engineering applications, its automotive range includes PFA products used in alloy wheels, cylinder heads, engine components, and other automotive castings. Additionally, because to the growing demand for premium, sustainably produced aluminum in India and throughout the world, it is raising the proportion of value-added goods in its range to 90%.
