In light of the current wind warning and the Special Relief Commissioner’s (SRC) advise, the Odisha government has instructed all Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) in the state to maintain a high level of alertness and take preventative steps to protect public safety. The direction was issued on Monday by Usha Padhee, Additional Chief Secretary of the Housing and Urban Development (H&UD) Department, who asked local authorities to keep a careful eye on local weather conditions and respond quickly to any emergencies.
The ULBs have been instructed to maintain close coordination with the respective district administrations and strictly comply with advisories and directions issued by the competent authorities. The department has emphasised the need for heightened vigilance and preparedness to minimise risks to life and property during adverse weather conditions.
