The murder case of a five-year-old minor girl- ‘Pari’ in Nayagarh district is still waiting to get justice. Recently the Orissa High Court clarified that it has not received any letter from the State Government for the Court-monitored SIT Probe into the incident.
As per the reports, the High Court disclosed in reply a question on the court-monitored probe by RTI activist Hemant Panda. He stated that he wanted to know whether the state government has provided any letter to the court regarding the court-monitored SIT probe along with the follow-up action by the HC in the incident. Apart from this Panda also stated that he wanted to know regarding the court-monitored SIT has been formed or not, along with the details of the case monitored by the court.
Panda further stated by clearing that in a letter on 6th January, the Additional Deputy Registrar of the Court B Das clearly mentioned that no such letter of request has been received from the Odisha Government on the appointment if the Honourable sitting Judge of this court to monitor the SIT probe into Pari murder case.
In November with the administration of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik a five-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) led by the senior IPS officer and IG of Police Arun Bothra and four Crime Branch officials RK Dora, SP, RC Thamba, Additional SP, Narendra Kuma Behera, Inspector of Police and Mamata Rani Panda, Inspector of Police as other members were formed.
