CM Naveen Patnaik Asks Newly Appointed Engineers To Be Informed With Updated Technology

An orientation program for 275 graduate engineers who recently joined as the Assistant Executive Engineers at the State Water Resources Department was organized which was chaired by Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

CM Patnaik on the occasion advised the engineer to be aware of the new and recent technologies in the field of water resources. With the improvement, the technology is changing rapidly and all the engineers must update themselves with the latest trends in their field.

CM said “Odisha has a huge potential in irrigation and hydropower. All of you are joining the department in an exciting era of transformation in the State. We will continue to invest in Water resources development and you will have a prominent role to play in the coming years.

“ Odisha is predominantly an agrarian state. Irrigation is a vital parameter for the prosperity of agriculture and our farmers. We have been making huge investments in the irrigation sector over the years. “10 major dam projects, 50 medium dam projects, and more than 2500 minor dam projects are currently operational in the State. Work for major Dams like Lower Suktel, Deo, Kanpur, and Subarnarekha is in full swing and will be completed soon. Many other projects are in various stages of development,” CM further added.

According to the official report, this is the second batch of recruitment of Assistant Executive Engineers comprising 183 male and 92 female engineers. 242 of them are in the Civil Engineering stream and 33 in Mechanical. All the engineers will go for the three-phase training with a fifteen-day online training followed by a 2-month practical training and the third phase of training will be provided in WALMI in 15 days.

Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mohapatra, EIC Jyotimoy Rath, and other senior officers also attended the program.
