Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Gujarat and Diu today. Modi will review the damage caused by the cyclone Tauktae. First he will go to Bhavnagar from Delhi. From there, he will fly to Una, DiU, Jafarabad and Mahua Prabhuti areas by air. After returning from there, he will hold a review meeting in Ahmedabad.
In Gujarat, at least 13 people were killed and several others were injured in the cyclone Tauktae. Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani said 5,551 villages were without electricity and more than 16,000 houses were demolished. More than 40,000 trees and more than 70,000 power poles have been uprooted. When Tauktae left, many traces of destruction were left behind. At least 13 people were killed in various parts of Gujarat, including Bhajanagar, Rajkot, Patan, Amreli and Valsad.
