SRC issues directives for government offices following the extension of the lockdown

Following the extension of the second phase lockdown period in the state till June 1, a new directive was issued today by the General Administration Department to run government offices. Government relief agencies today issued instructions to the Special Relief Commission to employ less than 10 percent of employees or to act as directed by the Department of General Administration.

So as per the instructions issued by the General Administration Department, the administrative departments will decide how the office will operate. The relevant administrative department will decide on how to deal with infections among employees, the workload of the department, especially the urgent work of the subordinate and field offices. Officers and employees who do not receive duty will be required to stay home and work. They will be available at headquarters and will come to work as soon as they receive information over the phone.

Notably, a directive was issued by the Department of General Administration on April 29 stating that the departments could make the necessary decisions on how to operate their offices. But the number of employees in the office would be less than 50 percent, and in the event of an emergency, fewer employees were ordered to work. Today, at the behest of the SRC, the General Administration Department has asked for a decision on the status quo instead of allowing 10 percent of its employees to run offices.
