The impact of the Covid-19 epidemic has been felt in sports and related tournaments. The Asia Cup-2021 has had to be postponed due to the deadly corona virus. The tournament will be held two years later, in 2023. The tournament was first relocated from Pakistan to Sri Lanka. The tournament has had to be canceled due to the growing number of cases.
The four major Asian teams have a busy schedule by the end of this year. At the same time, it is difficult to make time for the tournament. The Asia Cricket Council (ACC) has issued a press release. According to the ACC, the board has decided to suspend the competition with due diligence in view of the current COVID situation.
The ACC says it is best to host the tournament this season in 2023. This is because the Asia Cup was scheduled to be held in 2022. The ACC said its schedule would be released at a later date.
