Congress To Observe Odisha Bandh On November 12 Over Minister’s Dismissal Demand

On November 12, the Congress will observe Odisha Bandh protest against Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik-led government- BJD’s alleged delay against Minister of State for Home Dibya Shankar Mishra who is accused of patronising the prime accused, Govind Sahu in Mamita Meher’s murder case.

According to the reports, the decision was taken at the working committee meeting of the party, attended by Odisha In-charge A Chellakumar and Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Niranjan Patnaik. In an official statement by the party, it stated that the Odisha CM has not so far dismissed the minister even as his role in the whole murder case remained suspicious and till now no case has been registered against the minister even though proper evidence has been found against him.

The statement further added that crimes in the state is rising and no proper action is been taken strictly. A case must be registered and the minister should be arrested after his dismissal from the council of ministers.

Further on November 9, the Odisha Youth Congress will stage a demonstration in front of the Office of Delhi Resident and on November 10 at Jantar Mantra. The Youth Congress activists will sit on a dharna for two nights on November 6 and 7 in front of Raj Bhawan.
