The Odisha’s Vigilance team did a surprise raid on Puri Gynaecologist Dr. Sukant Jena. In the raid, several crores of money were found and thereby the vigilance team has arrested Dr. Sukant Jena. The arrest also took place as the vigilance team got a report that Dr. Jena has allegedly demanded and accepted a bribe.
Reportedly, he was apprehended by the vigilance sleuths while he was demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 3000/- after an operation and Rs 5000/- pre-operation from a Complainant for conducting the cesarean operation of his cousin. The entire bribe money has been recovered from Dr. Jena and seized.
A huge amount of Rs. 1 crore and 12 lakh cash was recovered during the house search. It is being said that this is the biggest cash recovery in the State during a Vigilance raid.
