The auto-rickshaw driver who recently dined with Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal during his trip to Gujarat attended the BJP event in Ahmedabad on Friday and claimed that he was forced to ask Kejriwal whether he would like to have dinner with him. This caused great embarrassment for the AAP leader.
The driver, identified as Vikram Dattani, a local of the city’s Ghatlodia neighbourhood, can be seen sporting a BJP sash and a saffron cap in the viral video. He even said on live television that he has always supported and supported just the BJP.
Gujarat’s state communications chief for the BJP, Zubin Ashara, said in a tweet posted on Friday that the auto driver had told the other three BJP members that he had been paid to meet Kejriwal.
According to Dantani, who was speaking to the media, a bus load of people from Dantaninagar attended PM Modi’s event today. In addition, he said he had no idea Kejriwal would conduct politics during a visit to his house.
