In the Kandhamal district of Odisha, the CRPF jawans have apprehended 11 people after becoming suspicious of their actions in a forest. Sources claim that on Sunday, members of the CRPF were conducting a normal search operation in a forest close to Jarighat within the jurisdiction of the Kotgarh police station in the district. They apprehended and imprisoned 11 persons who were camped out in the jungle.
Four firearms, three axes, and other necessities were taken from them by the CRPF jawans. The staff was questioning the arrested individuals even though their identities have not been established. According to CRPF sources, a probe is also being conducted into these individuals’ possible participation in wild animal hunting and connections to Maoist activity. The sources stated that information on the people in custody will become available following the probe.
