A 40-year-old man was killed on Saturday night by an 18-year-old boy who lives in the same Mohan Garden neighbourhood of west Delhi after a brief altercation that started when the latter’s plate of momos fell when the former brushed past him near a nearby kiosk, police said on Sunday.Police claim that they learned about the incident from a hospital, which informed them that a man had been brought to the facility and had been pronounced dead.
Police discovered during their investigation that Mehto accidentally touched the teenager’s hand while eating momos, causing the teenager’s plate to fall. The accused teen then began cursing at the man, which sparked an argument between them that quickly descended into violence. “An altercation developed into a fight. Jitender Mahto, who is from Sitamarhi, Bihar, and who was living in a rented home in Sainik Enclave, close to Mohan Garden in Ranhola with his wife, three children, and brother, was identified as the victim. In their hometown village, his frail parents reside.
“Nakul began abusing Jitender while holding a bottle of beer and appeared to be inebriated. They got into a disagreement, which quickly escalated into a fight. Nakul pulled a knife from his pocket during the altercation and stabbed Jitender in the neck. Nakul fled as I and a few bystanders attempted to stop Jitender’s bleeding, the officer continued, quoting the statement.
