NEW DELHI – In an era where digital literacy is the ultimate currency for success, Newgen CSR is celebrating a landmark 10-year journey of transforming lives across India. What began as a visionary spark to bridge the digital divide has today evolved into a massive movement, impacting over 26,000 girl students and hundreds of women through sustainable growth and holistic development.
Newegn: Digital Discovery Paathshala
The cornerstone of this journey is the Newgen Digital Discovery Paathshala (NDDP). Launched in 2016, the initiative was born from a simple yet powerful belief held by the company’s Managing Director: that digital empowerment is the “need of the hour” for the less privileged.
Starting with the adoption of two government girls’ senior secondary schools, Newgen established state-of-the-art digital labs. These weren’t just classrooms; they were hubs of curiosity where 3,000 girls annually learned to navigate the digital world through innovative, fun teaching methods.
Resilience Through the Pandemic
When the COVID-19 pandemic threatened to halt education, Newgen’s commitment didn’t waver. The program swiftly transitioned to a hybrid model, distributing over 3,000 iPads and tablets to ensure that learning never stopped. Recognizing that education is more than just curriculum, the initiative also introduced sessions on mental health and emotional well-being to support students during the crisis.
Expanding the Horizon: From Classrooms to Communities
Today, the impact of Newgen CSR extends far beyond school walls. The “NDDP Alumni” network now provides career mentoring and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) sessions to graduates, while scholarships support those pursuing higher education.
In a significant move toward community involvement, 2024 saw the establishment of a Skill Development Centre in Okhla. This center focuses on women’s empowerment, training mothers of NDDP students in vocational skills, financial management, and digital literacy. Currently, nearly 100 mothers are undergoing training, with over 800 mothers involved in the Samarth Saarthi Samuh community group.
A Legacy of Partnership
The scale of Newgen’s success is bolstered by strategic collaborations with renowned NGOs including KHUSHII, KK Academy, Computer Shiksha, and The Akshaya Patra Foundation. Over the last decade, these partnerships have achieved staggering results:
- 52,000+ students benefited through remedial education.
- 5 Lakh+ students reached through computer literacy programs.
- 85 Lakh+ mid-day meals provided to support student nutrition.
Looking Ahead

Ms. Priyadarshini Nigam
(CSR Head & Whole-Time Director at Newgen)
Reflecting on the milestone, Ms. Priyadarshini Nigam, CSR Head & Whole-Time Director at Newgen, stated:
“NDDP started as an initiative to bridge the digital gap… Over the decade, we have gradually scaled up the programs and reached out to the remotest corners of the nation. As we move ahead, we are focused on continuing to create a cycle of curiosity and changing lives.”
As Newgen CSR enters its second decade, the mission remains clear: to continue building a digitally inclusive India, one student and one community at a time.
