Leaders of the BJP and the Shiv Sena (the Eknath Shinde faction) have been vying for the Kalyan East Legislative Assembly seat since last year.Five bullets are said to have injured Gaikwad and a fan. The incident happened at the police station during a discussion between BJP MLA Ganpat Gaikwad and Mahesh Gaikwad, the city head, in the presence of senior inspector Anil Jagtap. The Shiv Sena leader is receiving medical attention at Thane’s Jupiter hospital after suffering severe injuries in the incident.”After arguing about something, Mahesh and Ganpat Gaikwad went to the police station to file a complaint. While they conversed at that point, Ganpat Gaikwad opened fire on Mahesh Gaikwad and his followers.

Anand Dubey, the head of Shiv Sena (UBT), criticised the state administration in the interim, declaring: “This firing has taken place inside the police station.” BJP MLA Ganpat Gaikwad opened fire, and Mahesh Gaikwad, the leader of the Shiv Sena Shinde Faction, was fired at. It is regrettable that an MLA is shooting people while supposed to be working for the wellbeing of thousands of people. The heads of two parties are at odds and attempting to assassinate one another in the three-engine government.

Srinivas BV, the president of the Youth Congress, chastised the BJP-Sena coalition in power for the incident. He claimed that while the person being shot in the police station is close to chief minister Eknath Shinde, the shooter is close to deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis.According to reports, the two leaders wish to run for the Legislative Assembly seat in Kalyan East. They were critical of one another a lot.

The true motive for the attack is being looked into by the authorities.
