The Railway Protection Force (RPF) on Saturday rescued a newborn baby from one of the general compartments of Prasanti Express. Passengers spotted the baby boy and informed RPF personnel when the train had halted at Khurda Road station.
After rescuing the baby, the RPF contact Khurda Child Welfare Committee and handed him over to Childline personnel. Prima facie evidence suggests, a woman delivered the child last night and abandoned him on the train. RPF has registered a case and investigating this matter.
