Acid Attacks – An important topic

Violence against women includes a lot of crimes. Be it rapes, or assaults, gendered violence is highly universal in nature. Gendered violence, in general, refers to planned crimes committed against a particular gender, be it male, female or transgender. Acid attacks are one of the most horrendous crimes which can ever be committed against an individual. Acid burns the skin to an extensive extent, damaging the skin, especially facial, way beyond repair. Even though there are surgeries to correct the face, only a ten percent can actually be achieved. However, in rare cases, a bit more can be achieved.
Acid attacks generally stem from rejection. The impulsive reaction to rejection is getting heartbroken, or maybe crying for weeks. But, damaging someone’s life for that is mere evil and sinister. The social norm and reality become quite relevant and significant here. The inability to accept the truth leads to grave consequences, always. Acid attack survivors are brave enough to fight against the society, even after being weakened. The fight is difficult, but not impossible at all. Legal procedures do take up a lot of time, and are highly strenuous in nature. The Indian Judiciary system is still developing in these aspects.
