Dikhyaa Mohanty 
In the run-up to the Odisha Assembly and Lok Sabha elections, actor-turned-politician Akash Das Nayak joined the BJP on Sunday, despite the ongoing party switching. In 2014, Akash was chosen on a BJD ticket to represent the Korei constituency in the Jajpur district in the Odisha Legislative Assembly.
At the party headquarters here, Das Bayak joined the saffron brigade alongside leaders like Sameer Mohanty, Pradeep Panigrahi, Sidhant Mohapatra, and Arindam Ray, as well as Manmohan Samal, president of the BJP state unit. The actor resigned from the BJD and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in writing.
After joining the BJP, Das Nayak said, “I joined the party inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for a developed India. I joined the BJP for the overall development of Odisha.”
