Adani Foundation organizes awareness programme for fishermen

Adani Foundation, the CSR arm of Dhamra Port Company Limited, hosted an awareness programme for 50 fishermen, trawler crew and owners

, and ice factory workers from Maa Dhamrai Mashyajibi Banika Sangha – Chandanipal, Kalinali Mashyajibi Banika Sangha – Jyostnamayee, Baitarani Balichar Mashyajibi Banika Sangha – Aman Nagar & Rabin

 

The Marine Department and the Safety Department, which are very closely associated with the development of this Fisherman Community, created the orientation for safe movement of fishing boats into the sea. A detailed discussion of how the operation of the fisherman community business is correlated with the functions of Dhamra Port was held.

 

Head Safety, DPCL, Marine team, and Head – Horticulture graced the programme, explaining the various aspects of safe fishing and vessel operation. Following the orientation, all of the fishermen were taken for a tour of the port and an aerial view of the channels that the vessels use to reach the Dhamra Port jetty. The marine team demonstrated safe operation of fishing trawlers and country boats to the fishermen on-site.

 

The Port Authority has been considering our contribution since the Port’s inception. We have been receiving their assistance on a regular basis in order to protect our lives and return home safely. They are assisting us in establishing contact with various government departments in order to ensure that we can fish safely inside.
