Adani Green Energy Interested For Setting Up Pumped Storage Project In Odisha For Power Generation

In Birigarh, Odisha, near Nayagarh, Adani Green Energy Group has expressed interest in establishing a Pumped Storage Project (PSP) for the purpose of producing energy. Subrat Tripathy of Adani Green Energy Group and other high-ranking officials showed interest in the project when they met with Kanak Vardhan Singhdeo, the Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Energy, at Lok Seba Bhavan’s conference hall.

During the discussion, PSP was discussed. Using water that is collected from hilly areas using pumps and stored in one location, energy is produced. The Adani Group is interested in establishing a renewable energy plant here to produce power because Birigarh of Nayagarh in Odisha is a source of renewable energy. Places like Bargarh and Bolangir, in addition to Nayagarh, offer ample opportunity to establish such enterprises.

Rich renewable energy supplies can be found in Odisha. Adani Green Energy is eager to meet the state’s electricity need by producing renewable energy from these untapped resources; all that is needed is their successful exploitation. In 2022, the state government implemented a policy for the utilization of renewable energy. These days, green energy-driven enterprises are supported by the government. Through the use of green energy, the government is attempting to protect the environment, particularly in sectors like the aluminum industry.

By setting up this project, the renewable energy generation target of the state can be achieved. In addition to environmental protection, development of the periphery area and employment opportunities can be created. Singh Deo stated that this will help in fulfilling the target set by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to use 50 percent renewable energy by 2030.
