Abdul Baqi Haqqani, acting minister of higher education of the new Taliban government stated that Afghan female students can attend higher education institutions and universities but in gender-separated classes.
According to the reports, Haqqani informed that all government-run universities will reopen soon and higher education authorities are working on regulations as students will return to their classes. The boys and girls would not study together and they will be separated as the co-education scheme has been against Islamic principles and national values. Further Islamic dress was also necessary for the female students while attending classes.
The report came as an Afghan female student who secured a top position at a national university entrance exam this year.
