Agriculture Dept Deploys Nodal Officers For Successful Implementation Of Various Schemes

When gathering information about the efficiency and execution of the several programs administered by the Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment, the Nodal Officer approach has shown to be highly successful. The Principal Secretary of the Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment, Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee, has reportedly addressed a letter to all Nodal Officers urging them to take this initiative seriously, according to an official news release. Given that the Kharif season is currently underway, Nodal Officers’ roles and responsibilities are crucial.

At the most recent meeting in June, it was resolved that Nodal Officers would visit their respective areas and provide the Principal Secretary of the Department with field inspection reports by July 10. During the current Kharif season, Principal Secretary Dr. Padhee has instructed Nodal Officers to make excellent seeds, fertilizers, agricultural equipment, and loans easily accessible.

The Nodal officials have been reformed in certain areas as a result of the postings and transfers of certain senior officials within the Department. To examine the general condition for the implementation of several government schemes in the area, they would arrange a meeting at the district level. The letter instructed them to write a report that included information about their visit, recommendations for relevant research, and contact information for the Principal Secretary and Deputy Chief Minister.

Premchandra Chaudhary, the director of agriculture and food production, and Rohit Kumar Lenka, the director of horticulture, have been assigned as Nodal Officers for the districts of Keonjhar, Jajpur, Angul, and Dhenkanal, respectively. In a similar vein, Additional Secretary Sarita Dhanwar has been assigned as the Nodal Officer for the district of Bhadrak, while Special Secretary Dillip Kumar Parida has been assigned as the Nodal Officer for Balangir and Sambalpur.
