The Bhubaneswar-based AIIMS and IIT have signed an MoU to foster academic and research collaboration in various fields of health and technology in order to combine medical science and technology for the provision of a better and more equipped healthcare service. In order to advance research for public health applications such as early disease and outbreak diagnosis, artificial intelligence and data analytics, biomedical engineering and technology, disease prediction modeling, digital health, development of tools, equipment, and strategies for diagnostic and therapeutic use, both institutes have agreed to continue their current collaboration.
Ashutosh Biswas, executive director of AIIMS Bhubaneswar, and Shreepad Karmalkar, director of IIT Bhubaneswar, signed the contract on Tuesday night at AIIMS. This project will help in the search for answers to the region’s present problems with patient care and public health.
Application of cutting-edge technology into healthcare will have immense translational value in diagnosis and treatment of diseases, said Biswas.
