The largest galactic structure that stretches over 16.3 million light years has been discovered. This galaxy is located around 3 billion light years from Earth. This galaxy is named as “Alcyoneus”. Alcyoneus is a radio galaxy.
It is one of a kind as it is defined by an unique feature that is a massive black hole. Giant radio gaalxies are just like an unsolved puzzle as no one has complete information about it. According to the observation if any black hole gobbles up a matter , it acts like swirling water through a vent.The angular velocity of the water increases rapidly as it nears the vent.
Giant Galaxies are made of a cluster of stars around a nucleus , that contains a supermassive black hole. Scientist ” Martijn Oei” said that ” As far as we know this moment, the remarkable thing about this galaxy is that it is unremarkable in all aspects”
