On his quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati, Amitabh Bachchan gained some insight into the K-Pop explosion. In a recent show, he quizzed a contestant on BTS in exchange for a Rs 5,000 award. He posed the question, “The band BTS, with Jin, Suga, and J-Hope as three of its members, is from which Asian country?,” in a video that went viral after the episode. South Korea was one of the choices. B. Iran C. Mongolia, and D. Sri Lanka. The candidate gave a prompt response to the query. Amitabh Bachchan observed the contestant’s eager expression while answering and was impressed.
When she provided the right response, Big B said that BTS stands for Bangtan Sonyeondan. I adore K-Pop, sir, she replied. She went on to explain that K-Pop is Korean music because Amitabh didn’t know what the phrase meant, to which he replied that he had learned “something new.”
Naturally, Desi ARMY was ecstatic and posted on Twitter to celebrate the fact that BTS had made it onto the well-known programme. One person said, “There’s no way they brought up BTS in KBC. Jimin’s birthday is today, so this made my day. BTS will soon be in textbooks, according to some.
Amitabh Bachchan has released a number of films this year, including Jhund, Goodbye, and Brahmastra. His upcoming movie, Uunchai, stars Neena Gupta and Anupam Kher among other A-list actors.
