“MUSIC GIVES A SOUL TO THE UNIVERSE, WINGS TO THE MIND, FLIGHT TO THE IMAGINATION, AND LIFE TO EVERYTHING.” – PLATO
From DAV Public School, Pokhariput, Bhubaneswar, Ananya began her studies. Later, at Kiit International School, Bhubaneswar, she completed her twelfth grade. She was really inspired by her elder sister, Amrita Pritam Nanda. Her career started when she was quite young. She copied her sister singing while she was in her learning period. As a result of listening to her sister singing different Hindi songs, she gives all the credit to her sister for being a trailblazer and an inspiration. Her sister is one of the inspiring talents of this generation.
“I believe I haven’t even begun”- she says there’s a long way to go. “Indian Idol had been a dream for her and the entire journey had been a dream; the winning moment was definitely one of the best of her life. Her parents and sister’s happiness meant the world to her,” she added.
As we all know, music has a different charm depending on whether you are a listener or a singer. For a singer, music has a different aura. Riyaz is one of the most important tasks for a singer. It helps to make the notes perfect while stretching the vocal cords for high pitch singing. Ananya’s note to Riyaz states that it should be done in the morning hours for best results. Ananya prefers morning hours and anytime she feels like practising.
It takes a lot of practice to keep the voice qualitative. In order to maintain a good vocal quality, we need to control some of our eating habits. Being in this field, Ananya says, “it’s nothing in particular I do.” I avoid cold drinks and ice creams, however, as they are not healthy. She also maintains healthy eating habits.
Nanda is a very down-to-earth woman. She is always respectful of elders and everyone in the industry loves her. Her preference is to be treated as an amazing human being, not as a celebrity.
She feels grateful every time she records a song. When looking for songs, she prefers quality over quantity. Although numbers are just a measure, the quality of the projects she gets is what makes a difference in her audience. Life is impossible without back support. Her family is her world. Her parents and sister are the most important support systems for her. Middle-class families are taught to fly high while keeping their feet on the ground.
She addresses that at least. Through hard work and God’s grace, we can all achieve our dreams. On this note, she thanks Interview Times for the lovely interview. She appreciates the opportunity to be a part of it.
Ananya’s dad, Prasanna Kumar Nanda, is a chief in an administration office, and her mom, Prasanti Mishra, is a housewife.
