Khageswar Patra was taken into custody by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for a 10-day remand so that he could be questioned further in relation to the notorious case of lady blackmailer Archana Nag. The ED had requested a 15-day remand for Patra.
For his claimed connections to Archana Nag and her husband Jagabandhu Chand in the context of the extortion case against Nag filed at the Khandagiri police station, Patra was apprehended by the ED on Thursday. After a protracted interrogation, he was taken into custody by the ED this afternoon.
He was then brought before the court, where the ED requested a 15-day detention to interview him further. He just so happened to be Archana Nag’s husband Jagabandhu Chand’s business partner. To avoid being arrested, Patra had petitioned the High Court and claimed his innocence in the case.
