The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) officially declared Pradip Purohit as its candidate for the upcoming bye-election to the Padampur Assembly Constituency in the Bargarh district on Saturday.
Sundargarh MLA Kusum Tete announced yesterday that the BJP has decided to run Pradip Purohit in the bye-election. On November 14, he will file his nomination for the byelection.
The bypoll will be held on December 5, and the results will be announced on December 8. The last date of filing nomination papers is November 17 and the scrutiny is on November 18. The deadline for withdrawing from consideration is November 21.
