Arjun Kapoor speaks on boycott trends

Back-to-back flops by the Indian film industry, with films failing to even break even due to plummeting box office collections, are forcing celebrities to either speak out publicly against the boycott culture or clarify and apologise for previous comments.Arjun Kapoor recently stated that they made a mistake by remaining silent about it. People began taking advantage of them while they were maintaining their dignity by remaining silent. The actor went on to say that for a long time, people in the industry believed that their work would speak for them. People, however, have made this a habit.Arjun Kapoor made his film debut in ‘Ishaqzaade,’ which romanticised inter-faith marriage but failed to become a memorable hit. He asserted that the boycott calls are part of a “agenda.” The actor went on to say that the audience used to be excited about new releases, but that things have changed for the worse. This comment comes just a day after many Twitter users began trending the hashtags #BoycottHrithikRoshan and #BoycottVikramVedha, with many threatening to boycott the film. This follows a major boycott of Aamir Khan’s film, Laal Singh Chaddha. The boycott of Hrithik Roshan and his film began after the actor mentioned Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha in his most recent tweet. After a section of the Internet dug up Aamir Khan’s 2015 interview bits, where he said that his ex-filmmaker wife Kiran Rao had suggested they move countries due to “growing intolerance,” Laal Singh Chaddha became the unwilling centre of controversy. While some netizens chastised Hrithik for his support for Aamir and Laal Singh Chaddha, others questioned why he did not praise anyone from the film The Kashmir Files.
