The farmers’ protest and the nationwide strike has witnessed a high drama voltage in New Delhi. Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia, has claimed Delhi Police of putting Arvind Kejriwal under house arrest after the CM went to farmers at Singhu border on 7th of December 2020. However, the Delhi Police have rubbished the claims of Mr. Sisodia.

The incident brawled when the police retained Manish Sisodia and hundreds of party workers to enter the CM’S office. Moreover, the police officials informed Sisodia that he and his party members could only meet the CM after taking permission from the police officer on the charge.

An agitated Sisodia then asked from whom he needed permission. “A Deputy CM wants to meet the Chief Minister and we are not allowed to go there,” he told the Delhi Police personnel deployed at the spot.

However, DCP North Anto Alphonse tweeted a picture of the Chief Minister’s residence and said: “This claim of CM Delhi put in house arrest is incorrect. He exercises his right to free movement within the law of the land. A picture of the house entrance says it all.”

However, Manish Sisodia further claimed that as Arvind Kejriwal denied converting stadiums to prisons for the protesting farmers, he has been put under house arrest. Also, he questioned the existence of large security forces outside the CM’s house without any valid reason.

During the day, hundreds of AAP leaders and supporters, including party MLAs, rallied at the ITO to demand that they meet Kejriwal. As traffic flow was hampered in the area, police put up barricades to keep the protesters in check and diverted commuters on alternate routes.
