Reliance Industries Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani announced that Jio 5G services to soon operate out in India in the second half of next year.
During India Mobile Congress 2020, Mukesh Ambani revealed the criterion stating that the 5G service offered by Jio would be a testimony to the Government’s Atmanirbhar Bharat policy. Along with the 5G services, Jio is generating an affordable Android phone with collaboration with Google, which is estimated to be launched by the coming months.
Ambani stated that the policy steps needed to stimulate the early rollout of 5G in India and Jio would also establish the country’s 5G revolution. He further informed that this service would be powered by the indigenous-developed network, hardware, and technology components. He also urged the Government to take necessary policy steps for producing affordable smartphones for the underprivileged people who are still using the 2G network.
The nationwide LTE-exclusive network coverage is helping the Mumbai-based telco to switch to the next-generation cellular service in a shorter time when comparing with what’s required for Airtel and Vi – which was formerly known as Vodafone Idea.
For bringing 5G in India, Jio is working with companies like Samsung and Qualcomm. At the 43rd Annual General Meeting of Reliance Industries, which was held in July, Ambani announced the g network by Jio in India as soon as the spectrum would be available and people will enjoy the 5G services.
