The Central government has appointed Ashok Meena and Nikunja Bihari Dhal, two senior IAS officials from the Odisha cadre, to the rank of Secretary.
Sources claim that 21 IAS officers, including Meena and Dhal, have been approved by the Cabinet’s Appointments Committee to be appointed to secretary or secretary-equivalent positions at the Center. Meena and Dhal are both Odisha cadre 1993 bath IAS officers.
Meena is the current Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of the Food Corporation of India (FCI), whereas Dhal is currently employed as the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) in Odisha.
