Imran Khan, a former Pakistani prime minister, was shot during a rally in Wazirabad, Punjab, Pakistan, on Thursday afternoon. He was hit and was taken to a hospital in Lahore. In what his party described as a “assassination attempt,” a fan was slain and 13 others were hurt during the former cricketer’s continuous march to Islamabad against the army establishment-backed central government.
According to sources, Khan was transferred by his security to an armoured vehicle and driven to a secure area with medical facilities after being struck by four bullets.In order to call for immediate elections, Imran Khan is presently spearheading a protest march in Islamabad against the federal administration. On October 28, Khan started his protest encirclement. According to the original schedule, the party’s long march, which had been travelling for six days, was supposed to arrive in Islamabad in seven days. Asad Umar, the PTI leader, announced the protest convoy would arrive in Islamabad on November 11, instead of the march’s original arrival date of November 4.
In order to press for his demands, he has been calling for early elections and is leading the lengthy march towards Islamabad. August 2023 will mark the conclusion of the present National Assembly’s mandate, and new elections should take place within 60 days.
