Athmalik MLA Ramesh Sai Quits BJD

Athmalik MLA Ramesh Sai today resigned from the primary membership of BJD citing personal issues. He sent his resignation letter to the party president Naveen Patnaik. “For, personal reason, I am unable to continue in the party and hence, resigning from primary membership of Biju Janata Dal (BJD) with immediate effect”, he wrote in hsi letter.

The day following the BJD’s announcement of Nalinikant Pradhan as the party’s candidate for the Assembly election from the Athmalik seat, he tendered his resignation. He went on to say that he considers himself fortunate to have collaborated with the party’s leader. He thanked the party president Naveen Patnaik and the leaders for their support in his productive service to the party at the time of his resignation.

Athmalik resident Sai was elected to the Assembly with a record margin of more than 47,000 votes.
