The Odisha government implemented a “water bell” system in all of the state’s schools in response to the rising temperatures. The goal of the action is to guarantee that pupils drink enough water while in class. To mandate it in every school in the state, the Department of School and Mass Education has written to the District and Block Education Officers (DEOs) and BEOs.
The approach is designed to remind kids to drink water by ringing the school bell three times a day at 8:30, 10:00, and 11:00. Instructors will watch out for students’ timely water consumption. Additionally, they recommended that kids wear caps and umbrellas when interacting with the institution. The water-bell system was implemented with the intention of keeping kids hydrated and preventing heat-related illnesses.
The meteorological service has advised people to avoid extended exposure to direct sunlight in order to prevent sunstroke due to the current heat wave.
