Salman Rushdie, a novelist of Indian descent, has been placed on life support after being stabbed numerous times at an event in New York on Friday, according to his book agency, Andrew Wylie, who spoke to Reuters. Wylie claims that after many hours of operation, Rushdie was placed on a ventilator because the nerves in his arms had been cut. Rushdie’s liver had been stabbed, he said, causing damage. People can be seen coming to his help in social media videos after he was attacked at the Chautauqua County festival, with authorities confirming a stabbing. Hadi Matar, 24, of Fairview, New Jersey, was the suspect, according to the New York Police Department.Prior to the arrival of emergency first responders, a doctor in the crowd provided medical assistance. Rushdie needed an urgent operation after being rushed to the hospital.
