Bhubaneswar to Host 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas in January 2025

BHUBANESWAR: Bhubaneswar is set to host the 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) from January 8 to 10 next year, marking a significant event for the state. The announcement came after Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi granted approval, officials confirmed.

The event, a flagship initiative that celebrates the Indian diaspora, will be jointly organized by the Odisha government and the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). This partnership underscores the state’s growing role in fostering global connections with non-resident Indians (NRIs) and persons of Indian origin (PIOs).

Preparations are already underway, with a five-member delegation from the MEA having visited the venue to ensure smooth coordination with state officials. Several committees have been formed to oversee the seamless execution of the event, the press statement added.

Pravasi Bharatiya Divas has long been a platform to strengthen the bond between India and its diaspora, and the upcoming edition in Bhubaneswar is expected to attract participants from around the world.
