With the threat of Omicron cases looming large of India and Odisha, the government of Odisha has taken a strict decision today. As per the decision of the government, national heritage site our own Jagannath Temple will be shut down. The temple will be closed for visitors till January 03, 2022. However, all essential pujas will be performed as usual under strict COVID protocol.

Maa Kalijai temple in Chilika has also been closed for devotees for three days from 6 am of December 31 till 6 pm of January 2.
The decision was taken to protect the health of public who visit temples, mosques, gurudwaras or churches in large numbers on New Year.
