Son of former Odisha Minister Bijoy Mohapatra, Arbinda Mohapatra has joined Biju Janata Dal in the presence of Odisha Chief Minister, Naveen Patnaik. Bijoy Mohapatra was a minister in the Biju Patnaiks’ government and also founded Odisha Gana Parishad in 2001.
According to the Press Release of BJD, an extensive discussion was held under the leadership of BJD President and Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik with the senior leaders of the party today regarding the strategy for the upcoming Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections.
As both the assembly and LS poll are around the corner, joining and resigning from parties has become a frequent activity in daily state politics. Odisha has 21 Parliamentary constituencies in which BJD won 12 seats, BJP 8 and the Congress won one seat.
