Rajya Sabha MP Dr Sujeet Kumar has nominated as the Member of the Consultative Committee in the Ministry of External Affairs. The Ministry of Parliament Affairs issued the information.
Sujeet Kumar earlier served at the senior policy planning positions with the Government of Odisha as the Advisor in the rank of Chief Secretary to the Special Development Council (SDC) of the Government of Odisha and Special Secretary of the Odisha State Planning Board. He is a trained engineer, lawyer and a policymaker. He represented Odisha in the Upper House and was elected to Rajya Sabha on Biju Janata Dal (BJD) ticket unopposed on 18the March this year.
He has also helped the foster entrepreneurial spirit amongst the youth, especially women, and encouraging them to pursue entrepreneurship. He even started promoting the start-up culture and ecosystem in Odisha by engaging, training and mentoring the students and entrepreneur’s in the areas of Ideation, Business Strategy, Start-up Laws & Entrepreneurial Finance. He has also invested and assisted many start-ups which raise angel, seed and multi-series VC funding.
The other members from the Upper House in the Committee include Abhay Bharadwaj, Anand Sharma, G.C Chandrashekhar, G.V.L. Narsimha Rao, Dr Narendra Jadhav, Prem Chand Gupta, Priyanka Chaturvedi, S.R Balasubramoniyam and Sasmit Patra. With 12 members from the Lok Sabha are the members of the Committee led by the Union Minister of External Affairs Dr Subrahmanyam Jaishankar.

“I have been nominated as the Member of the Consultative Committee in the Ministry of External Affairs. I humbly accept these responsibilities”, he tweeted in his official Twitter account.
