Odisha Government will soon organise to ‘Eco Retreat’ at various tourist destinations in the Odisha. Due to COVID-19 pandemic, the tourism of Odisha was profoundly affected, and now this event will help to recover our tourism sector.

The Marine Eco retreat was spurred by Annual Rann Utsav which held at Rann of Kutch in Gujurat. Between 15th December and 15th February, the first edition of Eco Retreat organised on Ramchandi beach in Konark and it was a huge success. For 49 days the event showcased Odisha’s food and culture for many tourists.  Last time the cottage occupancy was around 89 per cent with over 4000 tourists visiting on an average of 5000 visitors visiting on each day for over two months.

Now the tourism department is all set to include the glamorous camping which is also known as glamping events at Badmul (Satkosia), Nalitapatia (Bhitarkanika), Daringibadi and Hirakud along with Ramchandi. The tourists will present with luxurious accommodations like tented cottages, delectable cuisine, and spa, adventures along with restaurants and sports activities, and natural trails with cultural events.  The quality of service will be available at par with any 3-star category hotels.

Because of Coronavirus people may not be able to visit crowded places, so in that case, the Eco retreat will be perfect for those who want to enjoy in close setting areas. Even travelling to nearby destinations by organising day tours will also be provided to the tourists. The Tourism Department has already invited applications for reputed and qualified agencies for the administration and management of Eco retreat for three months. The last date for submission of bids is on 9th October.
