BJP Demands Resignation, Arrest, Polygraph Test Of West Bengal CM

Citing the Supreme Court hearings on the RG Kar Medical College issue, the BJP has that Mamata Banerjee, the chief minister of West Bengal, resign and be placed under immediate arrest. Speaking to the media at the party’s headquarters here, BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia chastised chief minister Mamata Banerjee for what she claimed to be her role in the case’s cover-up and her failure to preserve democratic norms. He maintained that Mamata Banerjee’s resignation as chief minister was necessary to ensure a fair investigation.

In order to substantiate its allegations, the BJP also demanded that Mamata Banerjee take a polygraph exam. She was also charged with obstructing justice by allegedly shielding lawbreakers and destroying evidence. Mamata Banerjee is being accused by Bhatia of siding with the wrongdoers instead of standing for the victims. He demanded the resignation of Kolkata Police Commissioner Vineet Goyal and continued to attack the West Bengal Chief Minister for failing to support the family of the victim. Additionally, the BJP spokesperson called for the disclosure of phone conversations between Goyal, CM Banerjee, and Dr. Sandeep Ghosh, the former principal of RG Kar Medical College.

Bhatia also denounced the hurried post-mortem, the scant CCTV footage that was supplied, and the delay in filing the FIR. He voiced his displeasure with the way the case had been handled overall and alluded to dissension inside the Trinamool Congress, implying that CM Banerjee’s actions would cause internal conflict within the party. In response to questions concerning Jawhar Sarkar’s resignation, Bhatia said that Trinamool leaders and the people of West Bengal were generally frustrated, implying that the incident would cause more division within the party.
